I have been banking with IBC Bank (AKA Oklahoma Federal) for almost 11 years.
I transfered to IBC Bank from another bank that helped an Identity Thief into my account and then blamed me for the zero balance.
I travel with my job and on holiday frequently. I work in the Merchant Marine and travel all over the World.
I have had no troubles using the IBC Check and ATM Card for years in places such as Bahrain, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, Austrailia, Guam, Thailand, Palua, Hawaii, Saipan, etc., etc.
I am on vacation at the moment in Thailand. I have been to Thailand many times and I have had no troubles using my IBC Card here before.
This time I am encountering immense trouble using my ATM card which is my Primary Bank Account Card.
Without notice IBC has stopped providing services to many countries I have learned... too late. I received no notice of this new practice.
My IBC Card is usless. It does not work. I have had to email relatives to transfer money to other accounts that are also on Shaky Cards that work in some locations and not in others.
IBC did not notify it's customers that it was going to stop servicing many countries. IBC has virtually ruined my vacation and caused me great worry and embarassment.
They are also unresponsive to my emails.
I have given proof of who I am by providing SSN, Mother's Maiden Name, Addresses I have lived, dates of deposits made by my Employer, My Employers Name, Account Numbers, Code on the Back of My ATM Card, etc., etc.
I am pissed! Why did they do this? Relatives have been told that it was because of fraud from overseas transactions. Ethiopia, Nigeria, Russia, I can see - Thailand is not a Financial Crime Mecca!
So, I wonder where else my IBC Card is not going to work. I wonder if I will be reduced to rice and rat my last week of vacation. I wonder how I am going to pay for my hotel when I check out.
IBC is lousy! I have banked with them for 3 years. After yesterday I am no longer doing business with them. Their bookkeeping practices are a complete joke! What you see onyour online banking IS NOT what they see at the bank. Basically they have two sets of books. The online shows me being charged overdraft fees for THREE transactions that cleared with money in the bank. Plus if you deposit you pay check, they take out all your debit THEN add in the deposit!! Thats screwy! It gets even WORSE! If you use you debit card for a purchase of say 113 dollars that will come out BEFORE your earlier transactions and your deposits!!! WTF??? That is the most "creative accounting" I've ever seen. That's why I don't bank there anymore. I'm telling people not to bank there and if they do please find another bank! They're make money screwing their customers.
Their "creative accounting" cost me 135.00 in overdraft fees. Yet on my online banking page it shows me being assessed fees for transactions that cleared with money left!!! Their bookkeeping is a joke!
IBC DID IT AGAIN! THEY TURNED OFF MY DEBIT CARD AGAIN AND YOU"LL NEVER GUESS WHERE... I GUESS THEY DON"T SERVE CALIFORNIA EITHER... EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE A BALANCE OF OVER EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS IN YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT!!! WTF IS HAPPENING WITH THIS S-BIRD OF A BANK?
I'm sorry you had to pay for all the charges for the safe keeping of your statements. Unfortunately, as in all occupations, there are people out there that just don't want to work. If you would have talked to an individual at IBC who has good cust. relations you would have been refunded all the charges. Also, when you opened the acccount, it should have been explained to you that the largest items are debited first because they are usually the more important item, such as a car payment or rent. I know that if I am late on my car payment it is a $60.00 charge but if I over draw in IBC it is only $27.00. Also, the overdraft courtesy is there as a fall back. It is never supposed to be used. My Motto is "don't spend it unless you for sure have it"
I have been banking with Ibc bank for 5 years and I think you need to learn policy and process before start banking with a bank institution. Please it's not $5.00 "return mail" It's $2.50 for that fee. Just go back to your other bank because people like you are ignorant that don't keep a transaction register and don't have any idea how much money you have on your account and always complain and open you mouth a lot saying things that are not true. Learn more about how a bank process before you open an account.
I totally agree with your comment!!! They are making millions out of this practice. I have an IBC account which I used to use only to pay my IBC mortgage and I had no problems over the last year. Last month, I moved my direct deposit from another bank to IBC, and incredibly at the end of the first month I was overdrawn twice, then I deposited early the next morning enough cash to cover that overdraft, but they held the deposit one more day...long story short I have eight overdraft charges accumulated at the end of the month owing them $320.00 I went back to see if I was able to talk to someone at the bank and I was able to hear from them the most hilarious and incredible explanations I’ve ever heard. “The system does it like that” “The system takes the largest amount first” “It’s all automated now” etc. Also, when I opened this account almost 18 months ago, they incorrectly entered my home address and IBC kept charging me $5.00 each month for “return mail” even when I went every single month for a period of six months to tell them to correct my address. Did they reimburse me all the charges made due an error they’ve made? Of course not!!! Trashy IBC
